A good sauna is measured by the quality of its löyly, the envelope of steam and heat that surrounds you as water is poured on the hot rocks. Our name, lolu, is derived from this practice - a celebration of wellbeing through the elements.

Charles first felt the power of the cold in the frigid waters where he grew up in Northern California. He first felt the power of the heat in a 90 minute Bikram class with Brooke at Hot Yoga of East Nashville. Music brought him to Nashville, but contrast therapy practices rooted him here. Between hot yoga and plunging into winter rivers all over Tennessee, Charles found himself and his calling. He was certified as a yoga instructor in May 2023. He began hosting community cold plunge and breathwork events out of his backyard that same summer. The rest is history.
Charles and Evan also run a small construction company called The Decking Crew. Charles is currently section hiking the Appalachian Trail: 210/2,200 miles completed!

When eight-year-old Evan lay on the floor with a stack of books on his chest as a circular breathing exercise for saxophone, little did he know his interest in mindfulness through the breath would become a pillar of his work as a professional musician and record producer 25 years later. This passion grew when he embraced cold exposure as a habit, a ritual, and then a lifestyle. From back-yard plunges to a brick and mortar, Evan wants to continue to give people the opportunity to experience and explore a practice that has had a profound impact on his life.
His kitchen is never without a fermentation project. Kimchi, anyone?

Chirag found yoga in 2015 at a brewery in Charlotte, NC. Through yoga, he began to understand the importance of the mind-body connection. This led to his interest in all things health and wellness and he found himself reading more about the gut microbiome than the Wall Street Journal. After 8 years in finance and tech, Chirag took a sabbatical in 2023. In Bali, he saw first hand the strength of community found at contrast therapy studios. Continuing this thread of curiosity led him to meeting Charles and Evan, and the founding of Lolu.

Yoga Sculpt-50
Ryan's intro to yoga was in 2018 through the upbeat format of Corepower Sculpt. Since then, he has come to appreciate the value of slowing down, and the intentionality behind other, more-traditional yoga/wellness practices. Professionally, Ryan has spent his career on Wall Street and on Startups--he's currently leading a company disrupting the live event/ticketing industry! Lucky for Ryan, in the 2nd Grade, he met a cool cat named Chirag and the two have been best friends since. Putting their two minds together with the collective genius of Brooke, Charles and Evan, Lolu was created and exists to serve people wherever they are on their wellness journey.
Ryan has been to 48 out of the 50 states of America.
